Walking along the Jurassic coast
H2oadventures loves to be on the land just as much as it does in the water. Walking and camping is one of our passions and we look forward to you joining us on one of our many Jurassic coastal walks. With Dorset being our home its the perfect location to start and finish a day or weekends walking along the Jurassic coast. Check out our EVENTS CALENDAR for our guided walks.
I pride myself in passing on my skills to you during one of our walks whether its using a compass for the first time, understanding scales on the map, calculating distance and time through to more technical contours use. If you leave our walks learning one new skill our work is done and your one step closer to planning your own adventures along the Jurassic coast.
Dorset is an area of outstanding beauty and we can offer walks to suit all abilities of fitness and interests. You are only moments away from the South West coastal path in Swanage and Wareham taking your right onto the Jurassic coast. Setting off from Swanage you will come across Peveril point which is a series of ledges that raise from the sea bed creating a tidal race along with some epic waves in the right conditions. This is watched over by the Swanage coastal watch institution for anyone or thing in trouble.
Next stop is Durlston situated in a 280 acre country park it was built in 1886 using the local Purbeck and Portland limestone. This is where the coastline becomes more rugged with lots of ups and downs taking in a series of caves and mines taking areas such as Dancing ledge, Tilly whim caves, St Aldhelms head, Chapmans Pool, Kimmeridge, Mupe Bay, Lulworth cove, Durdle door and heading around to the Isle of Portland.
H2oadventures takes the time to plan and arrange walks across the Jurassic coastline so you can turn up and enjoy your day knowing you are in good hands and learn a little bit of history of the area you are walking in . If our guided walks don't fit into to your trip please give us a call on 07735582663 and we can create your very own walking adventure along the Jurassic coast.
